With deep grief and a heart full of wonderful memories, I submit this obituary of Marian Adele Fechser, my
cousin and best friend. Adele was born February 18, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio and passed away May 21, 2001 in
Somerville, Alabama. Her parents are Robert Homer Cook and the late Jeanette Cook. Adele is survived by
her husband, Douglas of Alabama, a daughter, Amy Fechser and grandson, Michael of Michigan, and a son,
Gene Michael Fechser also of Michigan. She is also survived by two brothers, Jonathan Keith Cook and
Timothy Bryan Cook and their families, all of Alabama.
Adele suffered from the ravages of diabetes for many yeas but she always wore a smile and had a great
sense of humor. She was happiest while crafting and teaching others how to create things. She spent some
time, while her health allowed, making porcelain dolls an ornaments. Adele was also a wonderful cook and
enjoyed gathering her friends and family together for good times and good food. She will be greatly missed by
all who knew and loved her. A loving and giving friend is in God’s hands now.
