With much grief I will try, with the help of God, to write this obituary of my dear Daddy. Roy Caudill, son of
the late George and Julie Griffith Caudill, was born in Letcher County, Kentucky, June 10, 1926. He entered
eternal life Thursday, January 18, 2001 at the Whitesburg Hospital, being 74 years old at the time of his death.
Dad was married to he late Ida Mae Eldridge Caudill. She entered eternal life August 15, 1982. During this
time 7 children were born in their home, Billy Dean, Vergle, Morris Dale, and Norman Caudill; 3 daughters,
Sarah Jane Caudill, Linda Holbrook, Brenda Cantrell; 2 brothers are remaining, Henry and Willie Caudill.
Also surviving to this union are 23 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 1 son preceded him in death,
Lonnie Edward Howard.
Realizing without our great Saviour our souls would be lost in the mid 70’s I got to see my Daddy become a
peculiar type person. Turning his life over to Jesus, he was baptized in the Blackey river by two of his dear
brothers in the Lord, Bro. I.D. Back and Bro. Agnan Back. Knowing the love he had for those brothers and the
love for Jesus makes my heart rejoice as they can worship Him forever now with no more pain or sorrow.
Dad never stood in church to preach, but I thank God I got to hear him at home praying, praising, singing,
shouting and giving all the honor and glory to our dear blessed Saviour. In the morning, Dad, I got that same
hope to come home and worship with you.
With so much love given to me by our lord and saviour, your son, Norm.
