DOROTHY ROSE
It is with a sad heart that I will try to write this obituary of my sister in the Lord, Dorothy Rose.  Sister
Dorothy passed away on July 24, 2004 at the age of 87 at her home in Dunham, Kentucky.  She was born at
Beefhide, Kentucky on August 7, 1916 and was a lifelong resident of Letcher County, Kentucky.  She was a
homemaker and a member of the Hemphill Old Regular Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of Ziggler and Victoria Mullins Wright.  She was also preceded in death by her
husband, Sam Rose, on February 24, 1990.  She was preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Virgil and
Alton; a daughter, Ruth Rose; two infants, Billy and Bobby Rose; two sisters, Rebecca Wright and Ethel
Maggard; and three brothers, Acie Wright, Forrester Wright and Elijah Wright.

She is survived by four daughters, Peggy Jones, Linda Hunsaker, Ida Mae Bleigh, and Barbara Muncie; and
four sons, Millard, Kenneth, Carl and Ricky.  She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren,
three great-great grandchildren, a sister, Lizzie Austin, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Sister Dorothy was a faithful member of the church as long as her health allowed.  She would always light
up the room when she entered with a smile on her face.  You always knew when she was receiving a blessing
as tears of joy streamed down her face.  Sister Dorothy loved God to the very depths of her heart.  She is
resting now and someday she will come out of the grave that holds her down here.  She will be wearing a robe
of white and a crown on her head.
