Ethel Fields was born on October 15, 1911 at Jeremiah, Kentucky. She passed fro this life on September
17, 2004 at her home at Jeremiah, making her stay on earth 92 years, 11 months and 2 days. She was the
daughter of the late John and Larrena Roark Adams. She married Harry Edward Fields on December 29,
1934. Blessed to this union were twelve children: Robert, Everett, Harold, Della Mae, Loretta, Sherman,
Vernon, Eddie, Leonard, Johnny, Freddie and Debbie. Preceding Ethel in death were her husband, Harry, and
three children, Robert, Everett and Sherman. Besides her children, left to mourn her passing are six
grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a sister, Martha Colley, along with a host of
family and friends.
She loved her family very much, especially her children. She tried to teach us the best that she knew about right
and wrong. Over the years she piled up several stones along the way but none greater than when she joined
the Mt. Olivet Old Regular Baptist Church in November, 2000. She was carried out into the water in a chair and
baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, laid under and raised, to walk in a newness of
life. She put her light on the candlestick for the whole world to see. She loved everyone and everyone who
knew her loved her in return. She was laid to rest next to her husband and children at the Horse Mill Point
Cemetery. Though she is gone from us here, she will never be forgotten.
We shall miss her always.
