|HARRY (BEAN) SIDNEY MILLER
It is with a sad and loving heart that we will try to write the obituary of our dear father and husband, Harry
Miller, who was born on May 21, 1924 to James Ollie and Flora Alice Barker Miller. He passed away on August
26, 2004 making his stay here on earth 80 years, 3 months, and 5 days. He was preceded in death by his
parents; one daughter, Gerema Sue; two sons, Jimmy and Johnny; two brothers, Carlet and Aubrey; and one
sister, Rebel Adkins. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Parsie Hall Miller; one son, Terry Lee; two
daughters, Mary Ann Miller Gentry and Peggy Miller; one sister, Mary Margaret Ball; five grandchildren, Peggy
LeeAnn Black, Sherry Games, Christie Bugan, Alex Miller and Daniel Miller; and eight great grandchildren.
In September of 1982, Harry retired after 30 years at the Paragon Mines in Logan County. He was a
member of the UMWA #5958.
Daddy departed this life, leaving behind a loving family and many friends. He has gone to be with those who
have gone before him and, like he has done for so many years, he leads the way for the rest of his family to
follow. While at work, Harry followed the lamp on his mining hat that guided him home each day, he will now be
shining his light for others to follow.
