|PHYLLIS GRIFFITH HANDSHOE
With the help of God, I will try to write the obituary of Phyllis Griffith Handshoe. She was born February 8,
1944 to John and Fanny Hale Griffith. God called her home May 29, 2004, making her stay on earth 60 years, 3
months and 22 days. Surviving are sons, Charles Handshoe, James Handshoe; Shonda Handshoe; and five
grandchildren, Zoy, Eric, Samantha, Ashley and Vincent. Four brothers surviving are Keith, Arnold, Norman and
James Griffith. Five sisters also survive, Marna Francis, Francis L. Arbitage, Mary Vance, Margie Whitaker and
Lenie Sarkie. Also surviving are a host of special nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and a
host of friends and relatives. Phyllis was a sweet and humble person, to know her was to love her. The day she
died she said she was ready to go when the Lord called her.
We all miss you Phyllis, around the home place. We miss your sweet smile and your sweet voice. It’s hard to
go there and not see you. I know Joyce and all the rest of them miss you so. By the help of God we’ll meet you
again some day, where we will never part no more.
